Zelma Nelson Obituary

Mrs. Zelma Nelson, age 87 of Berry, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

The family will have a private service held for Mrs. Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard W. Nelson, her parents: David and Martha Gurganus, a sister: Lula Mae Knight, five brothers: Brady Gurganus, Grady Gurganus, Clement Gurganus, J.D. Gurganus, and Milton Gurganus.

Survivors include her son: Mike Lee (Judy), daughters: Patricia N. Pendley, Penne N. Smith, and Paula Daniels (Bobby), two sisters: Pauline Smallwood, and Marie Gant (Leon), brother: Hubert Gurganus (Claudia), and seven grandchildren: Marie Lee, Stacie Patilla (Joseph), Leslie Morgan (Todd), Cassie Mullinex (Billy), Kryssi Diekemper (Matt), Aaron Fondren, and Andrew Fondren, and two great-grandsons: Sawyer Morgan, and Evan Morgan, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Zelma was a member of Berry Baptist Church.
