Yvonne Atkins Henley, age 82, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on September 10, 1943, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of DA and Beatrice Atkins.
Yvonne was a gifted hairdresser whose warm smile and generous heart touched many lives. Always ready to lend a helping hand, she approached life with humor and a vibrant spirit that brightened every room she entered.
She leaves behind her cherished children: Anita Henley, Robert Henley Jr., and Yvette Henley-Claville; along with her loving daughter-in-law Kathy Henley, and son-in-law Scott Claville. Yvonne’s legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren Kevin Swafford, Alexzandrea Swafford-Pizarro, Brandon Swafford, Shelby Claville, Taylor Henley, Amillio Henley, and Courtney Soulliere, as well as her devoted grandson-in-law Jose Pizarro, and granddaughter-in-law Amanda Swafford. Her heart warmly embraced great-grandchildren Hailey Swafford, Ali Swafford, Nataliya Swafford, Jayce Swafford, Miya Pizarro, Jose Angel Pizarro Jr., Millie Jo Bynum, and Luna Soulliere.
Yvonne is also remembered by her sister Ann Atkins, brother-in-law Rick Balue, and their sons David and Cody and family.
A beloved matriarch and the foundation of her family, Yvonne’s love and laughter will forever be missed and deeply treasured by all who knew her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, a lasting testament to a life beautifully lived.
We all loved her deeply; she was the foundation of our family. She is truly missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home.
