William Douglas Wharton

William Douglas Wharton, age 10, passed away October 29, 2025 at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 AT 11-a.m. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Charles Wharton and Eric Milligan will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Billy and Barbara Porter, and grandmother: Pat Wharton.

Survivors include his parents: Jason and Karen Porter Wharton, brother:Caleb Wharton, grandfather: Doug Wharton, grandparents: Michael and Donna Cook, aunt: Jennifer Shackelford (Ben), special friend: Ms. Amy Kizzire, and a host of cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Caleb Wharton, Quinn Wharton, Ray Vice, Jordan Cook, Mac Cook, and Gabe Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be Berry Elementary School.
