Tommy Roberts

Mr. Tommy Roberts, age 76 of Fayette, passed away January 2, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Roberts was a 1966 graduate of Kennedy High School, married Jane Meadows on June 20, 1969. He worked at Fayette Cotton Mill for 35 years. Began ministry as pastor at Beaver Creek Baptist Church in 2002, and pastored many other churches until his retirement in 2022.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12-2 P.M. at the funeral home. Dr. Dale Mitchell and Bro. Bobby Barnes will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Jane Roberts, parents: James and Inez Roberts, sisters: Barbara Strickland, Jimmie Faye Rager and Judy Costes, brother: Jerry Roberts.

Survivors include his son: Jamie Roberts (Beverly), daughters: Jodi Hollingsworth (Barry) and Jennifer Smith, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Jordan Roberts, Craig Hollingsworth, Tyler Simpson, Zack Jenkins, Will Gray, Drew Simpson, Jaymes Roberts, and Robert Thomley.
