Timothy "Shawn" Black

Mr. Timothy "Shawn" Black, age 50 of Prattville, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 at home. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hopewell-Rosehill Cemetery. Bro. Jason Acreman and Bro. Erik West will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father: Tony Black, step-father: Charles Fulmer, grandparents: Lenwood and Lottie Hocutt, Lee and Faye Black.

Survivors include his daughter: Megan Black Zirkle, son: Timothy Charles Black, mother: Carolyn Wright (Walter), grandson: Liam Zirkle, brother: Anthony Shane Black (Barbara), nieces: Shayla Shavers (Alex), Paisley and Granger, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.

Shawn began singing and playing the piano at an early age. His life revolved around family and singing gospel music. He sang in many gospel groups. He loved spending time with family, bowling, and building legos with Charlie.

Pallbearers will be: Shane Black, Alex Shavers, Joey Hocutt, Shannon Strickland, Temarcus Smith, and Jeremy Davis.
