Thomas Wayne McDonald

Mr. Thomas Wayne McDonald, age 68 of Fayette, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Billy and Sadie McDonald, Troy and Earlean Dodd, father: Floyd McDonald, mother: Helen Stephens, nephew: James McWhirter, aunt: Winnie Tucker, and other aunts and uncles. 

Survivors include his wife: Katherine Denise McDonald of Fayette, son: Justin McDonald (Nicole) of Fayette, two daughters: Jessica Elizabeth Taylor (Kevin) of Winfield, Kimberly Beatrice Benton (Michael) of Winfield, brother: Franklin McDonald of Winfield, sister: Janet McWhirter (Boyce) of Winfield, and one grandson: Alex Neels, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McDonald worked at Continental Conveyor as a machine operator for 42 years until he retired. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be missed dearly. 

Pallbearers will be: Josh Hawkins, Kevin Taylor, Caleb Taylor, David Dodd, Michael Benton and Steve Benton.
