TJ Jones

Mr. TJ Jones age 84 of Fayette, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at his residence.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home. A private funeral will be held later for the family.

Mr. TJ Jones was born on July 17, 1935 in Fayette, Alabama to the late Mr. Booker T. Jones and Mrs. Bealee Jones. TJ accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of McConnel Chapel AME Zion Church until he was unable to attend due to his health. He began his education at Fayette Training School where he later withdrew from to enlist in the military. He worked many years at the Fayette Cotton Mill, later to retire. He enjoyed going into town to shop and talk with all his lifelong friends.

Mr. TJ was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Lula Mae Jones on November 9, 1954. The union was blessed with with two daughters and two sons. Mr. TJ was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son, and uncle.

Peacefully he made his transition to be with the Lord on June 29, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, a son, a sister, three brothers, and two grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish the memories of him: his loving and devoted two daughters, one son, a daughter-in-law, two son-in-law, his caring sisters and brothers, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
