Stewart Lindsey

Mr. Edward Stewart Lindsey, Jr., age 64 of Fayette, passed away April 29, 2025 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 12-Noon from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette City Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his father: Edward Stewart Lindsey, and infant sister.

Survivors include his mother: Nell Cannon Lindsey Smith of Fayette, brother: David Lindsey of Bankston, niece: Lucretia Lindsey Moore (Lane).

Stewart was born in Birmingham, AL. When he was nine the family moved back to Fayette, AL. He joined the First Baptist Church and was baptized. Later on he moved his letter to First Methodist Church. He joined the National Guard in Fayette, 877 Engineer. Stewart never met a stranger and enjoyed being with people.

Honorary pallbearers were: Jay Lawrence, Garry Lawrence, Patrick Cargile, and Gene Deal III.

Active pallbearers were: David Lindsey, Lane Moore, Paul Oswalt, Brian Deal, Dr. Gene Deal, Frank Bagwell, Dwayne Crowe, and Matt Lindsey.
