Sherry Rickman Obituary

Sherry Nance Rickman of Fayette Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior Jan 12, 2026.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 2-P.M. from Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 P.M. at the church. 

Sherry was born February 23, 1952 in York, AL to Robert Allen and Mae Ola Nance.

She graduated from Aliceville High School in 1970 and lived most of her life in Aliceville.  She retired from the State of Alabama DHR.  She was preceded in death by her father Robert Allen Nance, her mother Mae Ola Nance.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, William Rickman Jr., two sons Bill Rickman (Mitzi) of Fayette, AL and Bob Rickman (Heather) of Alabaster AL, and a daughter Jessica Porter (David) of Fayette, AL. She has two sisters Gloria Brownlee (Richard) of Guin, AL, Janet Ezzell of Canadian, TX and brother Randy Nance of Fayette, AL.

She has seven grandsons, Brent Rickman, Brandon Rickman, Reese Rickman, Carter Rickman, Jake Rickman, Graham Rickman and Jackson Wilkins. Also four granddaughters, Allie Rickman, Bella Wilkins, Caidee  Porter, and Abby Porter. Three great grandchildren Julia Wells Rickman, Austin Riley Rickman, and Olivia Drew Rickman. 

Sherry loved to sew, cook, and spend time with her family. She loved to go to Alabama football games and watch her grands play sports. She played piano and organ at her home church West End Baptist Church, Aliceville, AL for many years.  She loved keeping up with and praying for her friends on social media.

She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Fayette.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the JakeMadeStrong Foundation for MS research 2740 Co Rd 85 Fayette, AL 35555.
