Sadie Strickland Rigsby

Mrs. Sadie Strickland Rigsby, age 81 of Fayette, passed away May 10, 2026 at Fayette Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 4-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-4 P.M. at the funeral home.

Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and June Nabors, her late husband, Jerry B. Strickland, her daughter, Denise Madison, brothers, J.C. Nabors, and William Earl Nabors and sister, Jewel Hunnicutt. 

She is survived by her husband, Pat Rigsby of Fayette, her children, Todd Strickland and Scott Strickland (Tracey) of Fayette, her son-in-law, Ronnie Madison of Fayette, her step-children, Bobby Jenkins,  Greg Rigsby (Macy), Roger Rigsby (Barb), and Darrell Rigsby (Kathy) all of Fayette, her brothers, James Nabors of Fayette, and Gene Nabors of Kennedy, sister, Gladys McCool (Lee) of Fayette, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Sadie was born in Lamar County, Alabama and retired from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. She enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. She attended Belk Baptist Church.
