Reverend Ryan Cannon, age 58 of Fayette, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Jasper.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 10-11:30 A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. A private family funeral will be held. Burial will be in Fayette Memorial Gardens. Reverend Brian Savage will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Reverend Jesse C.L. Cannon and Margaret Hughes Cannon, and a sister: Eleanor Fitzgerald Cannon.
Survivors include three sons: Roland Nalls, Randall Nalls, and Robert Cannon, two brothers: Sebastian Cannon (Sandra), and Christopher Cannon (Nikki), five sisters: Linda Davis, Iris Robertson (Cedric), Alicia Nalls (Aaron), Roxie Wells (Reginald), and Mae Ruth Cochran, and five grandchildren.
Reverend Cannon was born in Fayette, AL to Reverend and Mrs. C.L. Cannon. He attended Fayette County public schools and graduated Fayette County High School. He attended Brewer State Jr. College prior to moving to Houston, TX, where he sustained life threatening injuries in a near fatal car crash. He returned to Fayette and was nursed back to health by his family. Ryan accepted Christ at an early age and announced his call to preach and was licensed by The Hurricane Baptist Church on May 31, 1987. He was ordained a year later on April 2, 1988. Ryan was known for his loving spirit and fun loving personality. He rarely met a stranger and was loved by many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Honorary pallbearers are: Clergy, friends, and staff of Ridgewood Health Care Center of Jasper, AL and Kindred Hospice Care of Jasper, AL.
Active pallbearers will be: Sons and Nephews.
