Ruth Duckworth

Mrs. Ruth Duckworth, age 97 of Fayette, passed away June 2, 2026 at her residence.

She was a lifelong resident of Fayette and Lamar Counties, She partnered with her husband in various businesses, and was a great gardener.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2-P.M. from Mt. Vernon Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 P.M. at the church. Randy Burbank will officiate.

Survivors include her grandchildren: Tracie Colburn, Mandy Caine, Lisa Ary,  Brandon Graham and Chad Morrison, nieces: Linda Koon, Linda Guadamuz, Deborah Trimm (niece and caregiver), and a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: James Lendon Duckworth, daughters: Alice Ary and Betty Forrester, parents: Elbert Lee Turner and Carrie Myrtle Corbett Turner, and siblings.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Alex Perkins, Wayne Duckworth, Jerry Duckworth, Miguel Guadamuz, Jerry Trimm, and James Duckworth.
