Rosie Enis Obituary

Mrs. Rosie Enis, age 92 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Fayette Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2-P.M. from Studdards Crossroads Cemetery. Bro. Rick Cargile will officiate.

Survivors include one son: Dwight Enis (Ellen) of Bankston, brother: Mack Tidwell (Reba) of Townley, and three grandchildren: Amanda Moore (Greg), Jennifer Enis, and Camille Howell (Adam).

She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin T. Enis, parents: Dock and Alcie Rutledge Tidwell, sisters: Katie Fowler, Flora Mae Avery, brothers: Euther, jt, Jack, Rayford, and George Tidwell.

Rosie loved to regale everyone around with tales of growing up in the hills and valleys of North River.  There were always variations on what the weekdays held, but a constant was always buck dancing on Saturday nights and All Day "Sunday Go to Meeting" every week at church complete with singing and dinner on the grounds.  She would be the first to admit that she was so high-spirited that her teacher had to tie her to the Christmas tree.  She met a young boy named Mel who grew up with her walking those country dirt roads.  He would later come home from WWII, ravaged by the trauma of being a prisoner of war in Nazi Germany.  Their marriage resulted in their son Dwight, in whom they both found their earthly joy.  When her mother passed away in 1973, she and Mel took her younger brother "Ray Boy" in and became his caregivers until his passing in 2001.  She accepted her role of caregiver as a badge of honor from her Lord.  She later fought many health battles of her own until the Lord called her home.   After many years of walking those dirt paths, she is now walking the streets of gold she always talked about, glorifying her Heavenly Father.
