Ronnie worked for many years for the Tuscaloosa County Road and Bridge Department where he gained many friends over the years. Due to health reasons, he retired and later moved to Fayette to help tend to his brother Lonnie Buford and his Mother Opal Buford. He was always the one to lend a hand no matter how tired he was, he was always ready to help a friend or his family. Ronnie will be remembered for his infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, he had a deep-rooted faith in Jesus, his unwavering kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift of making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the honor of crossing his path. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outdoors until his health didn’t allow him that pleasure anymore. We know he is up there catching up with all of our loved ones that have passed on before him.
Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette is handling the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at Davis Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday January 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Drew Self officiating, burial will follow at Davis Chapel. We would all ask that you dress casually as Ronnie would have wanted you to be comfortable in whatever you choose to wear.
A special thanks to John Wilson, Mary Bridgeman, Sabrina Nichols and the Tuscaloosa Road & Bridge Crew, Elizabeth a nurse in MICU at DCH Regional Hospital who worked tirelessly to not only treat him but to keep us informed, to all the residents at Mayfair Manor and to all his friends that have been by his side through the trials and tribulations that he went through throughout his life.
