Ricky Edward Lollar, of Berry, Alabama, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. A lifelong member of the community, Rickey attended Gorgas School and Northside High School, where he formed many lasting friendships.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 1-P.M. from Samantha Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Boone Cemetery. The body will lie in state Friday from 12-1 P.M. at the church.
Ricky spent many years working in the logging industry, operating a chainsaw with skill and dedication. He later became a familiar and beloved face at Simmons Gas & Grocery, where his playful personality and quick wit brought joy to everyone who walked through the door. Rickey had a special gift for making people feel seen—he rarely met a stranger and was known for giving everyone a nickname. If you didn’t already have one, he was sure to come up with one just for you.
Ricky was the 10th of 12 siblings and was deeply rooted in his large and loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie “Polly” Lollar and Coleman Grady “Scobe” Lollar; his sisters, Annette Oswalt and Gail Moore; and his brother, Curtis “Outlaw” Lollar.
He is survived by his four children and twelve grandchildren, along with his siblings: Peggy Lincoln, James Grady (Tammy) Lollar, Barbara Locke, Pat Gant, Kathy (Bro. Denny) Renfroe, Randall (Paula) Lollar, Jeffrey Scott Lollar, and Vicky Dunn. He is also survived by two very special people in his life, Nancy Mullinax and Blakely Odom, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ricky will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy of laughter and love will live on in all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Sanford, Kenney "P.J." Dawson, Kenneth Gant Jr., Marcus Lollar, Shannon Lollar, Avery Kaiser, George Fields and Jimmy Renfroe.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Bobby Cannon Jr., Caleb Lollar and Larry Dale Gant.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made towards funeral expenses.
