Richard Nelson Obituary

Mr. Richard Wayne Nelson, age 88 of Berry, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at his residence.

There will be a private funeral held for Mr. Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Carlos and Mexie Kelly Nelson, Sr., brother: Carlos Nelson, Jr., and a sister: Ina Faye Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Zelma Gurganus Nelson, daughters: Patricia N. Pendley, Penne N. Smith, and Paula Daniels (Bobby), step-son: Michael Lee (Judy), two sisters: Betty Deavours, and Kelly Westbrook, seven grandchildren: Marie Lee, Stacie Patilla (Joseph), Leslie Morgan (Todd), Cassie Mullinex (Billy), Kryssi Diekemper (Matt), Aaron Fondren and Andrew Fondren, two great-grandchildren: Sawyer Morgan and Evan Morgan, and nieces and nephews.

Richard was a member of Berry Baptist Church. He was self-employed as a truck driver for the coal, logging, and rock business.
