Phyllis Jean Thompson

Mrs. Phyllis "Jean" Barrett Thompson, age 84 of Fayette, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Claude Thompson, and her parents: John Wesley and Pearl Barrett.

Survivors include two sons: John Thompson (Kim Boney) of Ward, AL, Jeff Thompson of Fayette, two daughters: Vanessa Posey (Roy) of Gordo, and Vonda Quiett (Steve) of Royce City, TX, one sister: Jane Cannon of Fayette, seven grandchildren: Craig Posey (Kim), Tyler Quiett (Sarah), Kyle Posey (Andrea), Kayla Pugh (Brad), Trevor Quiett (Ashlyn), Tanner Quiett, and Therron Quiett, and six great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Waylon, Connor, Charlie, Amelia and Collin.

Honorary pallbearers are: Davey Long and John Luke Long.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
