Phillip Gurganus

Philip Wayne Gurganus, Sr., age 62 of Franklinton, LA, passed away on April 2, 2021 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a real soldier who fought the disease until the end.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

The son of Raymond W. Gurganus and the late Annie Sue Bonner Gurganus of Berry, AL. He was survived by his brother Barry L. Gurganus of Berry, AL and his sister Robin Gurganus Acevedo (Jose) of Slidell, LA., as well as his son Philip W. Gurganus, Jr. Of Covington, LA.

Philip was preceded in death by his lifelong companion and love of his life Susan N. Pierce. Their extended family together included Susan’s son Tony (Raynell) Henry of Mandeville, LA. and their children Taylor Henry , Mallory Callahan and Matthew Henry. Also her daughter Rhonda (Robert) Haran of Alpharetta, GA, and their son Hunter Haran.
    
Philip also has three nephews Barry L. Gurganus, Jr., Ronnie G. Ryals, Jr., Raymond W. Ryals, and only one niece Rachel Ryals Maxwell.

Philip will be sadly missed by everyone.
