Peggy Coons Burradell

Peggy Coons Burradell, age 75 of Long Beach, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 27,
2026.
Peggy was born November 9, 1950, in Fayette, AL. She was proudly raised in Fayette and graduated
Fayette County High School, later attending Brewer State Junior College. She retired from
Verizon after many years in the telephone industry.
Peggy was married to John Burradell of Ashland, AL. Following his passing, she lived with her
son Chris Prescott and Lesslie Prescott of Long Beach, MS.
She enjoyed gardening and caring for plants, going to the movie theatre and watching HGTV
and Forensic Files, and dearly loved her dogs and cat.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Burradell, and parents: Joe & Betty Coons.
Peggy is survived by her children: Chris Prescott (Lesslie Prescott) and Shea Prescott, her
siblings: Richard Coons and Nancy Mosley,  her grandchildren: Olivia Prescott, Paris Prescott and
Van Prescott,  her step daughter: Denise Woods (Ray Woods),  step grandchildren:  Melissa Russell, Alex Woods and Wyatt Woods, and her step great grandchildren:  Jackson and Emily Russell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10am-11am, followed by a memorial
service at 11am, at Nelson’s Funeral Home in Fayette, AL
