Opal Knight

Opal Aldridge Knight, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Hospice of West

Alabama.

She was born on April 2, 1946 in Lamar County, AL. She was the daughter of the late

Avery and Ada Moore Aldridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Roy, James,

Raymond, Elmer, David, and Cois Aldridge; sisters Catherine Butler, Christine Lawrence,

Geraldine Elliott, Earline McAdams.

She is survived by her husband Jim Knight; daughters Kim (David) Rainwater of

Cherryville, NC and Kelli (Brad) Kimbrell of Northport, AL; grandson, Travis Rainwater; and

brother Olen Aldridge of Aliceville, AL. She is also survived by a host of nieces and

nephews that she loved dearly.

Opal was sweet spirited, fun, and full of life. She always had a smile on her face and a

big hug to give. She will be greatly missed.
