Opal Hollingsworth

Mrs. Opal Hollingsworth, age 93 of Fayette, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Morningview Estates. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11 A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Marion and Minnie Pearl Hamilton O'Mary, husband: Robert Hollingsworth, son: Stephen Hollingsworth, son-in-law: Gary Thornton, brothers: Clayton O'Mary, Raymond O'Mary, Hollis O'Mary, and sister: Dorothy Hewitt.

Survivors include her daughter: Donna Barnes (Tommy) of Fayette, daughter-in-law: Cindy Hollingsworth of Fulton, MS, grandchildren: Angela Cellitti, Jason Thornton (Ashley), and Dakota Hollingsworth, great-grandchildren: Randall Fulton (Katie), Amelia Thornton, Zander Andrasko, Brennan Thornton, River Thornton, and Charlee Thornton.
