Nolen Sanders Obituary

Nolen Dean Sanders, a long-time resident of Fayette County, entered heaven’s gates on Friday, March 16, 2024 at the age of 94 years old. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Although our hearts are broken, our faith and hope in the Lord is that we will one day be reunited with our loved ones that have gone before us.

Daddy had a giving spirit and it was his way of blessing others. That was his love language. Most of the time, you would find him outdoors enjoying the things he loved best: working in his work shop, planting his garden, tending to his flowers, tinkering with anything in his shop along with making additions to his museum that was open to the public. He enjoyed reminiscing about his life experiences with family, the cotton mill and his tour of service in the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. Rev. Brent Smalley, Drew Manley and Bishop Richard Ramsey will officiate. The family will receive visitors Friday, March 22, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home.

Nolen was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Bobbie Jean Gray [Forever Together Again], his parents, Henry Dalton Sanders and Mittie Mae Holcombe Sanders Aldridge, Step-father, Ruben Aldridge and sister, Barbara Ann Sanders Garrett.
