Myrtie Smith

Mrs. Myrtie Smith, age 90 of Bankston, passed away June 16, 2026 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home.Donald Smith and Darren Pollard will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Wiley Smith, parents: Paul and Emma Bonner, sisters: Ethelene Wright, Eula Bell Wright, Mallory Darty, brothers: Glen Bonner, Jack Bonner, Gene Bonner, grandsons: Chris Lowery and Jason Edgil, and great-grandson: Devin Bush.

Survivors include two daughters: Donna Kay Edgil (Mark) of Bankston, and Janet Smith Rutledge (Gerry) of Reform, one sister: Pauline Simmons of Walker Co., AL, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers are Gentiva Hospice.

Active pallbearers will be: Shawn Early, Andrew Price, Tyler Ramsey, Vick Selman, Rodney Ramsey, and Jaymes Roberts.
