Max Crowley

Mr. Max Crowley, age 76 of Fayette, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Fayette Long Term Care.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Jane Fleming Crowley, and his parents: James Edd Crowley and Margret Cornelia Newman Crowley.

Survivors include his daughter: Carrie Crowley Porter (Jason) of Kennedy, brother: James Crowley (Betty) of Fayette, niece: Stacy Crowley Cannon (Keith) of Fayette, and two grandsons: Brady and Nathan Porter of Kennedy.

Max Crowley age 76, was born on February 11, 1948 in Fayette. Max was a graduate of Kennedy High School in 1966. He attended Hamilton Trade School in Hamilton, AL. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 till 1972. Max worked at Arvin until it closed. He retired from Hannah Steel in Tuscaloosa. He married Jane Fleming August 3, 1973 and was married for 49 years. Max was a loving father to Carrie and grandfather to Brady and Nathan. 

Honorary pallbearers are: Eric Fleming, Brad Fleming, Keith Cannon, Joel Medders, and Mitchell Anderson.

Active pallbearers will be: Brad Cannon, Tru Cannon, Josh Thomas, Carter Thomas, Trey Fleming, and Canaan Fleming.
