Mrs. Mary Ruth Sheppard, age 64 of Capron, IL, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at OSS St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berry. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband: Willie Ray Sheppard, son: James Ray Sheppard (Chris Sheppard), daughters: Shelia Ann Chafin (Michael), Theresa Diane Sheppard, brother: Billy Brashier (Sandy), sisters: Sara Gray (Donnie), Sally Thompson (David), Sherry Brashier, Christine Gray, Nellie Harbin, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William David and Rosie Curington Brashier, brothers: Gilbert Curington, Jimmy Brashier, and sister: Margaret Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Monica Chafin, Tressa Sheppard, Jayden Sheppard, Morgan Chafin, Shane Chafin, Jackson Sheppard, Dominic Sheppard, and Catherine Villa.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons: William R. Sheppard, Julian R. Sheppard, Christopher J. Sheppard, Shawn M. Chafin, Nathaniel R. Sheppard, and Ryan S. Sheppard.
