Mrs. Mary Bircheat, age 90 of Fayette, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-3 P.M. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George C. and Biddie Dennis Taylor, brothers: Lonzo Taylor, Renley Taylor, Melvin Taylor, Luther C. Taylor, and Eulie Taylor, sisters: Donnie Aldridge, Dora Aldridge, Lucille Newman, Mamie Gilpin, and Ruby Belk, and a number of brother and sister-in-laws.
Survivors include her husband: Daniel Leon Bircheat of Fayette, son: Daniel Wayne Bircheat (Rhonda) of Atlanta, GA, sister: Ramie Elmore, sister-in-laws: Wanda James, Alice Bircheat, Sherry Bircheat, and Joyce Taylor, brother-in-laws: Charles Bircheat, Mitchell Bircheat, and Lurd Waldrop, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bircheat was born in Lamar County, AL and graduated from Kennedy High School. She worked in Columbus, MS prior to marrying Daniel L. Bircheat on April 5, 1952 in Columbus. She was the mother to Daniel Wayne Bircheat and a housemaker. Mrs. Bircheat worked in the manufacture of hospital surgical supplies and also worked in the garment industry. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, crochet, reading and visiting with family and friends. She was an active member of the Mayfield Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, especially to National Parks, enjoyed cooking, and was known for her smile and friendship to those in her family and community.
