Mrs. Martha Papazan Taylor, age 93, of Fayette, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her home.
Martha was born, January 24, 1928, on her mother’s birthday. Her parents, Johnny and Velma Papazan, raised her and her sister Montie, in Fayette County, Alabama. On June 5, 1946, Martha married Maldon Taylor and they were married for 50 years. Together they had two children, Rhonda and Danny. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Fayette.
Martha loved her family dearly and enjoyed nothing more than having a house full of people to feed. Her definition of “family” was broad and included many dear friends. If you were fortunate enough to have been part of Martha’s life, then you can rest assured that you were loved “a bushel, and a peck, and a hug around the neck.”
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Velma Papazan; her husband, Maldon Taylor; her sister, Montie (Mot) Gray; her brother-in-law, J.D. Gray; and her son-in-law, Jim Pace.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Pace of Fayette; son, Danny Taylor of Fayette; grandchildren, Rachel Morton (Kurt) of Tuscaloosa, Jennifer Wray (Pat) of Harrisburg, AR, and Justin Taylor (David) of Paragould, AR; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Wray (Darby), Caden Wray, Logan Wray, and Joshua Morton.
The family will hold a private service. Dr. Dale Mitchell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, and if you would like to honor Martha’s life, the family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
