Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New River Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons: William David Jordan (Jo Anne) and James Gregory Jordan (Glenda), both of Northport, one daughter: Melanie Leigh Jackson of Fayette, brother: Bill Woodard of Tuscaloosa, three sisters: Cathy Mills and Becky Howard, both of Tuscaloosa, Donna Dix of Suwanee, GA, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Ray Jordan, father: William Royce Woodard, mother: Oceal McCaleb Fowler, and daughter: Sandra Denise Jordan.

She was born October 21, 1937 to her parents, Oceal McCaleb Woodard and William Royce Woodard in Fayette County. Tragedy would strike early in her life when her father was killed in a fire when she was just a little girl and she was affected by it all of her life.

She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family. She was a very good cook and liked making meals for her family until she couldn't and then supervised Melanie and Ernest Ray so everything would come out just right. She was very talented and made beautiful flower arrangements to place on all the family graves for as long as she was able.

She liked watching Alabama Sports especially football and gymnastics. She was generous with her time and money. She loved listening to singing and singing with acapella church music. She looked forward to go to family reunions and various holiday gatherings during the year. She met the love of her life, Ernest Ray Jordan and was married to him for 68 years.

Most important of all she loved her Savior Jesus Christ and His church. She obeyed the gospel and was a faithful Christian, and attended the Hubbertville, Central-Tuscaloosa and Northprt Churches of Christ.

A special thank you to Melanie Jackson-daughter, who devoted countless hours taking care  with love and dedication of our mother and father.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Hubbertville Church of Christ, Friends and neighbors of the Hubbertville community, Gentiva Hospice, and Ashley Byars.

Active pallbearers will be: Billy Jordan, Chris Bell, Eric Shirley, Evan Shirley, Robbie Pate, and David Hubbert.
