With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Gentry McGuire, who departed this life on August 2, 2025, at the age of 61. Mark was a dedicated mental health counselor and preacher whose life was a testament to compassion, faith, and service. Throughout the years, Mark walked beside countless individuals and families, offering wisdom, strength, and solace during their most difficult times. A calming presence and a steady guide, he was deeply committed to the well-being of others and leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives touched. A source of love and support to many, Mark is survived by a cherished best friend, Lorrie Hicks; two beloved daughters, Kaylea Johnson and Jacey Moore (Alex) ; his adored grandchildren, Kurt Johnson, Klay Johnson, Lacey Pickle, and Owen Nettles, who brought immense joy to his life; a treasured sister and brother Lori DeVine (Larry), and Joel McGuire (Lezley), as well as many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Leon and Joan McGuire, and by grandparents Allen Christian and Anna Lois McGuire and John and Mary Thornton, whose guidance and faith helped shape his life, one defined by compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication to serving others. Though Mark may no longer be with us in body, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he uplifted, the families he supported, and the love he so freely gave. Visitation will be held Sunday August 10, 2025 From 3-4:30 P.M. at Central Church in Fayette as family and friends come together to honor Mark’s life. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Giving Closet, as it was a cause near and dear to his heart.
