John Holley Shepherd

Mr. John Holley Shepherd, age 88 of Berry, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pea Ridge Community Church Cemetery. Russ McDonald will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.

Holley was a 1953 graduate of of Berry High School, a Korean War Veteran, and a retired coal miner. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and making people laugh.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Shirley Feltman Shepherd of Berry, son: John Shepherd (Kerry) of Canton, GA, grandson: Blake Shepherd of Berry, granddaughter: Libby Shepherd of Canton, GA, brother: Macon Shepherd (Joan) of Northport, sister: Mary Shepherd Moore (Daniel) of Pelham, brother-in-law: Larry Johnson of Northport.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Julian Holley and Czarina Elizabeth Peterson Shepherd, sister: Judy Shepherd Johnson, and brother: James Shepherd.

Pallbearers will be: Blake Shepherd, Jim Shepherd, Donnie Knight, Brian Davidson, George Kizzire, Timmy Kizzire, Jimmy Dean Feltman, and Jeff McCormick.
