John Russell Doggett Sr age 87, a resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, went peacefully with the Lord on September 17, 2023 with family by his side.
He was born to the late Robert and Ailene Doggett on July 16, 1936, in Danville, IL. He attended Danville High School; and upon graduation he entered the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, John married the love of his life, Jeanne, on November 29, 1959, they were together for 61 years. After his Honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, he moved to McAllen, Texas where he started his career with Trans Texas Airlines and continued to work in the Airline industry for over 35 years and finally retiring from out of New Orleans, Louisiana with Northwest airlines. After retiring they settled in the small beach town of Waveland, Mississippi, where they did the one thing they truly enjoyed, traveling together throughout the country to visit family and friends. John and Jeanne finally settled in Lawrenceburg after many years of traveling.
He is preceded in Death by his Wife Jeanne and He is survived by his five children: Mark (Paulette) Doggett of Semmes, AL, Francie (Joey) Icolano of Chelsea, AL, Kevin (Donna) Doggett of Fayette, AL, Rusty (Donna) Doggett of Greensburg, PA and Stephanie Woodhead of Hampton Hill in the UK; his grandchildren: Gary Lambert, Jamie Griffin, Joshua Taylor, Joseph Doggett, Matthew Doggett, Cedric Doggett, Megan Doggett, Angela Reaves, Stephen Icolano, Tony Icolano, Libby Woodhead and Bryce Woodhead; great grandchildren: Kalista, Allison, Noah, Daisy, Lucy, Adrian, Emma and Elle; his sisters: Mae (Guy) Camarata, Bonnie (Robert) Shepherd, Wilma (Alan) Vance, Daniel (Sherry) Doggett and his brothers Harry (Sally) Doggett. He was preceded in death by his Mother Ailene Bishop Doggett, Father Robert Doggett, Stepfather Absolom Doggett and Brothers Robert (Dorothy) Doggett, Joseph (Gail) Doggett, William (Mary) Doggett, Paul Wayne Doggett and Sisters Betty (John) Hittlet and Donna Kirsch.
A memorial Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, TN on September 27, 2023 at 1130 am.
