Mr. Jimmie Ray Earnest, age 73 of the Boley Community, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2:30-P.M. from Boley Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Boley Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2:30 P.M. at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents: J.D. and Jeanette Earnest, and a daughter: Lori Suzanne Earnest.
Survivors include his wife: Ethel Miller Earnest, two sons: Ronny Earnest (Melissa), and Randy Earnest (Meighan), brother: Johnny Earnest, two sisters: Kathleen Medders and Lois Earnest, and five grandchildren.
Jimmie graduated from Berry High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Ethel in 1967. For two years he served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served as a police officer for both Tuscaloosa City and Jasper, as well as time he spent working on the coal mines. He accepted the Lord's call on his life and begun his pastoral ministry. For 40 years he served through the Church of the Nazarene in Alabama and Indiana. He was a faithful member of Boley Church of the Nazarene. Jimmie was a wonderful, one of a kind, loving husband for 53 years. He was a great dad and friend to his sons, and a gentle and kind grandfather. He loved his family and cherished each one.
Honorary pallbearers are fellow ministers of the Word and United States Veterans.
Active pallbearers will be: Johnny Earnest, Blake Earnest, Dylan Earnest, Jackson Earnest, Gary Medders, and Dewayne Medders.
