Jewel Banks Tate

Mrs. Jewel Tate, age 85 of Fayette, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Fayette Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 2:30-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-2:30 P.M. at the funeral home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: John Floyd and Ola Jane Johnson Howton, and her husband: Troy Neal Tate. 

Survivors include her brothers: William Howton of Florence, and Billy Joe Howton of Fayette, sisters: Kathleen Robinson of Winfield, and Dora Hobson of Tuscaloosa. 

Pallbearers will be: Larry Moore, Jeremy Howton, Jason Howton, Russell Howton, Mack Morrison, and Garrett Morrison.
