Jeanette Earnest Obituary

Mrs. Jeanette Earnest, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at her residence.

Jeanette Earnest was born July 10, 1930. She was a well known citizen of Berry, AL. She has always been dedicated to her family and friends. She was a member of Boley Church of the Nazarene where she was a board member for many years. She was a devoted Christian woman and was known for her faith in God and was a respected prayer warrior for her whole community. She was employed at North River Apparel as a well respected supervisor until she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Earnest of whom she was married to for 60 years. She was loved dearly by all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and other family members and friends. She was well respected and loved by her whole community. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 3-P.M. from Boley Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Boley Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3 P.M. at the church. Ronny Earnest and Rick Taylor will officiate.

Survivors include two sons: Jimmie (Ethel) Earnest and Johnny (Kathy) Earnest, both of Berry, two daughters: Kathleen (Garry) Medders and Lois Earnest, both of Berry, brother: A.R. (Patricia Ann) Smith of Carbon Hill, sisters: Martha Lee (Paul) Courtney of North Carolina and Rebecca (Barry) Medders of Alvin, TX, 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Minnie Alma Smith, father: Howell Baker, husband: John D. Earnest, step-brother: S.D. Smith, step-sisters: Willie Mae Nesmith, Nadine Guthrie, and Pauline Dotson, half-sisters: Magdalene Guthrie, Arcenia Hershey, and Nora Bell Bortolini, great-granddaughter: Lori Suzanne Earnest.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Trent Hopkins, Aiden and Evan Taylor, Jackson and Bryant Earnest, Carson and Evan Helms, Tucker and Tanner Wilson.

Active pallbearers will be: Blake and Dylan Earnest, Hunter and Dalton Medders, Cody W. Hopkins, Tyler, Cody A. and Hunter D. Nichols, and Nic Kimbrell.
