James Steve Smith

Mr. James Steve Smith, age 68 of Fayette, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at his residence. 

He was preceded in death by his father: Lester Smith, step-father: Rufus Gardner, mother: Myra Gardner, and brother: Johnny Smith.

Survivors include his wife: Nancy L. Smith, son: James Mickey Young (Courtney), step-son: Allen Piwowarski (Annie), brother: Richard Smith (Maryanne), sisters: Diane White (Richard), Shirley Corkerin (Dewayne), and three grandchildren. 

Mr. Smith was born in Ft. Wayne, IN and resided until the age of 10. He became a resident of the Berry Community and later the Lawrence Mill Community. He was a plumber the majority of his adult life. Mr. Smith was a devoted husband to Nancy and a loving father, grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life for James will be held at a later date.
