On April 28, 2026 James A. Fisher, a lifelong resident of Marion, AL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 1, 1950 to Robert and Alpha Fisher.
He had four main Loves of his life. First of all, he loved God, whom he served faithfully for 60 years. His second great love was his "Bride" of 56 amazing, fun filled years whom he loved totally. Next, was his family who he cherished and enjoyed. Lastly, he loved his church which he spent his life giving his all to.
James enjoyed spending time with his family, some of his favorite things were hunting, reloading bullets, target practice, playing games and playing with the little ones.
He worked 43 years for ALDOT, loving his co-workers like family. He was out going and didn't meet a stranger. He was a heavy equipment operator and maintenance superintendent for 13 years.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Alpha Fisher, brother: Troy Fisher, and sister: Irma Tumlin.
He is survived by his wife: Faye, two daughters: Patti Fisher, and Lacey LaGrone, and one son: Jamie Fisher (Rachel), he also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Phillip LaGrone (Abby), Destini Lowery, Caleb LaGrone (Charity), Lauren Cain (Isaiah), Colby Fisher (Katelyn), Colton Fisher, and Ashley Johnson, five great-grandchildren: Addison, Callahan, Caroline, Annesley, and Forrest Beau.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11-A.M. from New Canaan Holiness Church located at 3761 County Road 23, Marion, AL. Burial will follow in Mt. Ivah Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening beginning at 6-P.M. at New Canaan.
Honorary pallbearers are ALDOT employees.
Active pallbearers will be: Bobby Fisher, Colby Fisher, Colton Fisher, Phillip LaGrone, Caleb LaGrone, Ronnie Faulkner Jr., Isaiah Cain, and Ricky Breland.
