Mr. James Bynum, age 90 of Fayette, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Bro. Adriennen Nottonson will officiate.
Survivors include one son: Jimmy Bynum (Shelia) one daughter: Karen Gordon, brother: Andrew Bynum, three sisters: Mary Bynum, Melva Johnston, and Margaret Mizzoni, seven grandchildren: Kevin Bailey (Melissa), Kimberly Downing (Stuart), Kristi MacNeill (Bruce), Joshua Bailey (Lara), Jenny Raybon (Mike), Julie Arman (Mike), and Jonathan Bynum, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James Chelsey Bynum and Carrie Myrtle Humber Bynum, his wife: Martha Bynum, brother: Thomas Homer Bynum, and sisters: Carrie Marie Battle and Martha Elizabeth Brock.
James Noel Bynum was born in Fayette County on November 16, 1929. He served in the United States Army and served in Germany as a mechanic and driver. He married Martha Clearman and they had two children, Karen and Jimmy. He started Bynum Tractor Sales in the 1950,s that later evolved into Bynum Outdoor Power Equipment. Every year he planted a big garden to share with family and friends, even this year he drove his tractor and hoed in the garden. He loved birds especially hummingbirds and crows. He loved good food and did not mind sharing his opinion when it did not meet his expectations.
Pallbearers will be: Kevin Bailey, Jonathan Bynum, Mike Raybon, Stuart Downing, Bruce MacNeill, and Mike Arman.
