IJ Britnell Obituary

Mr. IJ Britnell, age 79 of Fayette, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Fayette Long Term Care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jay and Ioma Jane Kennedy Britnell, five sisters: Estelle Cole, Avolee Harbin, Eva Ham, Ivalou Pendley, and Ruth Palmer.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley Ann Britnell, son: Darrell Britnell (Beverly), two daughters: Cynthia Melton (Russell), Sondra Britnell (Scott), sister: Elvie Williams, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be: Tommy Tyner, Russell Melton, Cody Britnell, Scott Green, Ralph Williams, Derek McReynolds, Jimmy Henderson, and Joel Ham.

Honorary pallbearers are: David Fowler, Robert McCaleb, and Dr. Fred Yerby.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Fayette Medical Center Long Term Care and also Alabama Hospice Care.
