Obituary

Mrs. Grace Elder Lowrey, age 103, resident of Fayette, Alabama and formerly of Mobile, Alabama, passed from her earthly homeon Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Alexander and Esther Malinda Powell Elder, husband James Hulon Lowery, to whom she was married on March 4, 1944, and a sister, Myrtle Esther (Elder) Mancil.

Mrs. Lowery graduated from Citronelle High School Class of 1937 and Hufstetler Business College. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was baptized by Pervis Nichols on October 19, 1954. She was a talented poetry writer, enjoyed hand sewing and pencil puzzles. One of her greatest accomplishments was memorizing Hebrew. She lived in an orphanage for three years, which few people knew.

Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home, Mobile, Alabama from 12-P.M. until 2-P.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Chapel services will begin at 2-P.M. with burial  following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
