George Porter

Mr. George Porter, age 89 of Fayette, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 5-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Porter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-5 P.M. at the funeral home. Derek Porter will officiate.

Survivors include his daughter: Debra Porter of Fayette, sons: Scott Porter (Melissa) and Randal Porter, both of Fayette, brother: Fletcher Porter (Bonnie) of Fayette, sisters: Linda McCullough of Birmingham, Callie Martin and Nina McCracken, both of Tuscaloosa, 5 grandchildren: Georgia Wilhite, Victoria Wilhite, Noah Porter, Anna Marie Porter, Jaclyn Porter Wallace, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Wallace Porter, parents: Cornelius Porter and Nora Lee Porter, brothers:  Cornelius Porter, Jr. and Carlos L. Porter.

Pallbearers will be: Noah Porter, David Porter, Dru Porter, Brad Porter, Jesse Sanders, Jeff Mordicai, and Tim Bobo.
