George Mann

George Sanders Mann “Sand Mann” unexpectedly went home to be with his lord and savior on August 21, 2023.

Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday August 27, 2023, at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

Sand was born February 23, 1959 to the late Dr. George Harold Mann and the late Joanne Foster Mann who preceded him in death.

Sand left behind his wife of 36 years Kimberly Bobo Mann, his wonderful children whom he adored, Emilee George-Anna Martin, her husband Chris Martin, his son George Dylan Mann and his girlfriend Ashlynn Thomas. The loves of his life and his pride his grandchildren Jake Foster Martin, Olivia Grace Martin and Jaxon Sanders Martin. His Brother WIliam Mann and his Sister in law Pam, His nephew Cody Mann and his wife Sidney and baby Scarlett, His niece Rae Mann, mother-in-law: Joanne Sandlin, and brother-in-law: Otis Bobo.

Sand Graduated from Winfield City High School in 1977, for the last 32 years he has worked at PGP in the methane gas field. Sand has been in numerous bass fishing clubs throughout the years. Fishing was his favorite pastime. He also co-founded  and has been a member of Buckshot Hunting Club in Winfield for the last 40 years.

Sand was a friend to many people. He never met a stranger and always remembered them the next time they would meet. He was the most generous, genuine, caring, selfless person anyone could meet. To know him was to love him. He never ended a conversation on the phone or in person without saying “I love you, call me if you need anything”. 

Pop we love you and missing you is not saying enough.
