Genine Fowler

Mrs. Genine Fowler, age 88 of Fayette, passed away peacefully at home December 29, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home. Fred Yerby and Barry Kelley will officiate. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years: David C. Fowler, parents: Delmer and Nancy Enis Cook, brothers: Paul Cook and Rodney Cook, sisters: Charlotte Cook, Faye Lowery, and Brenda Fowler. 

Survivors include her son: Carlton Fowler (Patty) of Fayette, granddaughter: Jamie Fowler of Tuscaloosa, sister: Bessie Nell Otts of Fayette, and brother: Wayne Cook (Shirley), 5 step-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Martha Jo Christian and Amedisys Hospice of Hamilton.

Active pallbearers will be: Tyler Moore, Kevin Armstrong, Roger Aaron, John Aaron, Derek Sims, and Will Aaron. 

In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to Belk Free Will Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class.
