Genette McGough

Mrs. Genette Knight McGough, age 73 of Berry, passed away January 19, 2024 at Fayette Medical Center.

She was born August 25, 1950 to R. Nettie Kimbrell Knight and Verner L. "Bud" Knight. She married Jackie McGough on May 11, 1968, and they were married for 55 years and 8 months. She was a loving wife and mother that adored and loved her grandkids. She loved cooking, was a collector of bird houses and Indian dolls, loved fixing decoration flowers, painting sweaters, and all crafty things. She also loved softball. She played and said those were the best days of her life, and she loved watching her boys play baseball and football.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Doil Knight, and brother-in-law: Charles Wallace.

Survivors include her husband: Jackie McGough of Berry, two sons: Tony McGough (Ginger) of Winfield and Mark McGough of Berry, sister: Frances Wallace, sister-in-law: Shelia Knight, and 2 grandsons: Trace and Chance McGough.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 222, 2024 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bevans Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Robert Yerby will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Mark McGough, Tony McGough, Chance McGough, Trace McGough, Chad Knuckols, Danny Morris, and Steven Bell.
