Mr. Gary "Tugboat" Hubbert, age 69 of Fayette, passed away May 29, 2024 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 at 1-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Camp Comfort Cemetery. Mark Brown and Jonathon VanBrunt will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Horace and Faye McCaleb Hubbert, and sister: Mary Ann Hubbert.
Survivors include his brother: Johnny Hubbert of Fayette, sister: Cynthia VanBrunt (Richard) of Warner Robbins, GA, nieces: Tracey Poe, Nancy Hodges (Nick), Ashley Hogeland (Darrin), nephews:Jonathon VanBrunt (Rachel) and Jeffery VanBrunt, 2 great-nieces, and 6 great-nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be: family friend: Dana Hill, staff and residents at Fayette Medical Center Long Term Care.
Active pallbearers will be: Jonathon VanBrunt, Jeffery VanBrunt, Travis Smith, Casey Black, Ferrelll Robertson, Brad "Bull" Porter, Chris Black, and David "Danky" Smith.
