Mrs. Eunice Hocutt, age 101 of Fayette, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport.
A private graveside service for immediate family only, due to the coronavirus, will be held Monday, April 13, 2020 from Fayette Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas "Bud" Fowler and Beulah Bearden Fowler; brothers, Oliver, Aulton, Conner, Murphy, and Boyd Fowler; half-brothers, Banks and Clint Fowler; and half-sister, Eller Fowler.
Survivors include her sons, Brinley Hocutt (Martha) of Tuscaloosa, and Tim Hocutt (Kathy) of Lexington, SC; grandsons, William Hocutt, Adam Hocutt, and Chris Hocutt of Birmingham, and Clay Hocutt of Tuscaloosa, and granddaughter, Teresa Hocutt of Denver, CO. and three great grandchildren, John Harris, Thomas, and Vivi Hocutt of Birmingham.
Eunice was a lifelong member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Fayette where she attended services until unable to do so due to health issues. She was not only a homemaker, but she also worked 30 plus years at the Fayette Cotton Mill. One of her main hobbies was making quilts, making well over one hundred in her lifetime. Over the years she gave many of her quilts to family and friends who will always treasure her works of art. She also loved working in her garden, baking, reading the bible, and spending time with her family.
