Ettie Gray Bozeman Clark, 90, of Berry, Alabama met her heavenly Father on July 21, 2021. Ettie was born to Desma Hawkins Bozeman and Raymond R. Bozeman on November 8, 1930. Ettie Gray married Denver H. Clark on July 21, 1945. Ettie and Denver built a beautiful life together and had a loving marriage. They loved nothing more than God and their family. They had four children, Robert Wayne (Bobby) Clark (Sheila), Jimmy Lane Clark (Linda), Carol Ann Clark, and Brenda Clark Webb (Billy), all of Berry; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie L. Holcomb of Fayette, Cindy Rushing (Steve) of Owasso, OK, Ricky Clark (Nicole) of Berry, Tracy Fields (Chris) of Berry, Angela Beasley (Mark) of Berry, Mandie Mauldin (Jared) of Berry, Luke Holcomb (Caroline) of Hoover, Denver P. Clark (MaKayla) of Berry, Kaci Hindman (Blake) of Northport, and Jodi Cherry (Jordan) of Hoover; 14 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Ettie was the perfect balance of both strength and kindness, and beauty and intellect. She had a sharp business mind and worked alongside her husband to run his family logging business. She also started several successful tax offices that served the surrounding communities for decades. She loved Berry and her surrounding community. She will always be remembered at Berry High School as the very first Miss Berry, crowned in 1945.
Despite all her talents and accomplishments, she valued nothing more than her faith in God. Her pride and joy were her family and her ministry. In the 1980s, she founded Rhema Christian Fellowship Church in Berry. In the 1990s, Ettie had a calling on her life to start a local Christian television station. Her drive, faith, and determination made this dream a reality, and she established Clark Broadcasting. She had a dream of making Christian programming available to everyone, and that dream continues to touch lives today. She was a wonderful mother and “Grannie” to so many. She instilled strong Christian values into her family, and they will continue her legacy of loving God and serving others.
Ettie is preceded in meeting her heavenly Father by her loving husband of 61 years, Denver H. Clark; her parents, Raymond and Desma Bozeman; and her siblings, Jarrett Bozeman, Beatrice (Bea) Bozeman Pendley, Arvle Hill Bozeman, Robert B. Bozeman, Johnny E. Bozeman, and James Rayford (Bug) Bozeman. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
