Mrs. Etta Ray, age 84 of Bankston, passed away April 25, 2026 at her residence.
Mrs. Ray loved her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to work in her flowers, and also loved to cook. She loved her furbaby, Peaches. She enjoyed going to church, and did so until her health prevented her from attending. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Bro. Wil Corbett will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Edd Ray, parents: Othor and Nora Estes Cole, brothers: Johnny Cole, Jim Cole and Morris Cole, and sister: Mildred Mitchell.
Survivors include two sons: Jerry Ray (Cynthia) and Bryan Ray (Khristina), both of Fayette, two daughters: Wanda Crowell (Bobby) and Debra Frost (Bill), both of Fayette, sister: Ruby Regan (Bob) of Tennessee, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Addus Homecare-Wanda Crowell, Fayette Home Health, Access Hospice-Paige Hayes, Penny Threadgill and Sanita Bowie, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be: Jason Beasley, Shaun Bynum, Zach Frost, Bill Frost, Bobby Crowell, and Rodney Fondren.
