Mr. Earnest Womack, age 68 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel.Christopher Nall will officiate.
Survivors include sons:Minister Christopher Nalls of Fayette, AL, Earnesto Womack of Lawton, OK, Bo Smith of Fayette, AL, Travis of Ohio, daughters: Elizabeth Womack of Moore, OK, Christine Womack of Gutherie, OK, sister: Lurethia Womack-Reese of Lawton, OK, 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a host of loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Nell Womack, and foster parents: Leila B. and Tommy Franks.
He was born in Birmingham, AL on December 22, 1952 to Mary Nell Womack. The family soon moved to Fayette, AL. After a few years they moved to Jamaina, NY until the passing of his mother in 1965 and then back to Fayette. He attended Canaan Jr. High School, West Highland High School and Fayette County High School, where he graduated in 1971. Earnest retired from the US Army after 20 years of service in 1999. He moved back to his hometown of Fayette, AL in 2011, where he resided until his death.
