Dorsey Johnson

Mrs. Dorsey White Johnson, age 95 of Fayette, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama.

She was a New Year's Eve baby born on December 31, 1925 to Jessie Otts White and Dossie Olinthus White.

In death, Dorsey was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John Hillard Johnson, an army veteran; her sisters Roie, Edna, Ivis, Orice: and her brothers Alison, William, Lawson, J.D., Hubert, and Foy.

She is survived by her son Johnnie Edwin Johnson and daughter Judy Taylor (Pat); grandchildren, Laura Hyche (Chris), Scott Johnson (Callan) and 7 great-grandchildren.

Dorsey loved her family deeply and was a proud and loving caregiver to her husband, mother, children and grandchildren. She loved Bethel Baptist Church where she was an active member for over 70 years. Crafting, sewing, quilting, and cooking were a few of her many talents which she generously shared with her friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.
