Dorothy Watkins Sanford

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Watkins Sanford, age 76 of Fayette, passed away June 7, 2024 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at 3-P.M. from Fayette First Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1-3 P.M. at the church.

Survivors include her sons: Shane Sanford of Fayette, Josh (Courtney) Sanford of Plainfield, IL, Brandon (Jennifer) Sanford of Fayette, brothers: Mackey (Marilyn) Watkins, Mickey (Annette) Watkins, sisters: Billie (Brooks) Wilson, Katherine (Larry) Newman, and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Douglas Sanford, parents: Cecil and Sarah Joe Watkins, and brother: Ralph Watkins.

Dot was born and raised in Belk, AL. She was a member of the Fayette High School Class of "65". She was married to Doug Sanford for over 50 years. She raised 3 boys: Shane, Josh, and Brandon. She worked for 20 years at Bolling Pharmacy. She attended Fayette First Freewill Baptist Church where she was involved in the childrens ministry. Dot loved spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed shopping trips with her sisters. She also enjoyed spending time and spoiling her 7 grandchildren. Her kind hearted and gentle spirit will be missed.

Pallbearers will be: Shane, Josh, and Brandon Sanford, Carter, Cooper, Tucker, and Isaiah Sanford.
